Our 2010 Annual Fall Luncheon held at the scenic waterfront Grille Sixty Six and Bar was a record breaker in both attendance and underwriting, resulting in a record-breaking fundraiser for cancer research. Bravo and congratulations to our incredible Fall Luncheon Chairs Linda Von Allmen and new member Summer Robertson.
Royal Dames and guests were greeted with flutes of champagne and escorted into a dining room which was abound in fall colors of golds, rusts, browns and reds, including the tables, chairs and centerpieces.
The silent auction table was an overwhelming success with dozens of items for our shopping pleasure. Door prizes and a raffle drawing for more great gifts added to the enjoyment of everyone.
Upon being seated, Summer and Linda thanked all the luncheon underwriters including Graff Diamonds Bal Harbour, who graciously underwrote the meal, (Linda was modeling a gorgeous pair of earrings from Graff), Bank of America, Hackley & Robertson, PA, Morgan Stanley Smith, A Basket Affair, Inc. Transform Age Management & Vitality Center, and Linda herself who underwrote the wine.
President Janet Davis thanked the Chairs of this fabulous luncheon and commended the Dames for their support which contributed to a very successful event. Janet then introduced NSU Chancellor Ray Ferrero, Jr. and Dr. Fred Lippman, Chancellor of NSU Health Division who were in attendance with several other special guests from Nova. Chancellor Ferrero spoke about the University’s appreciation of what the Royal Dames have been doing for the past four decades in raising money for cancer research.
Our Tiara Ball Chairs Sharon Gustafson, Shannon Brooks and Susan Rindley each took turns informing everyone about the exciting plans for the upcoming 41st annual Tiara Ball, “The White Ball – White Out Cancer.” Their enthusiasm was contagious and soon committees were formed.
